Jack Black Movies


Black, known for his roles in funny movies, is also a musician. From 1997 to 2000, the band, that Black is a part of, was followed on the HBO series “Tenacious D”. One of his first big lead roles was in the comedy “Shallow Hal” with Gwyneth Paltrow. Black has also starred in some good romantic comedies, like “The Holiday” from 2006. Also, Black starred in the action comedy “Tropic Thunder” with Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. But Black hasn’t limited his roles to simply funny flicks; he has also participated in several dramas as well.

In 2005, Black played Carl Denham in the remake of “King Kong” from director Peter Jackson. And then Black starred with Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh in “Margot at the Wedding”, which is a family drama that has some comedy mixed in.

Plus if you are looking for some good pictures to watch with the kinds, Black has done the voices for several animated flicks, like “Shark Tale”. And most recently he voiced the main character “Po” in Dreamworks’ “Kung Fu Panda” and also in the sequel. Black is featured in two new comedies coming to theatres this fall. In the first one, “The Big Year”, Black has a starring role with Steve Martin and Owen Wilson. The film is set to be released in October, 2011. Black also has a small part in Disney’s “The Muppets” coming to theatres in November of 2011.
